KITH - Neighbors Creating Housing Solutions

KITH is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving East King County since 1989.

KITH's vision is to assist individuals and families on the Eastside who are facing a homelessness crisis by providing housing and services to help families become stable and self-sufficient.

KITH owns transitional and long-term supportive housing and provides case management support for families and individuals in KITH housing as well as for other housing providers in East King County. Many KITH clients are single moms moving out of domestic violence emergency shelters.

KITH Case Managers help our clients to set and achieve individual goals, propelling them forward on their journeys to success. Other KITH programs including a weekly community supper, holiday giving, and transportation assistance, provide important services to families in need the local community.

The Committee to End Homelessness predicts a need for over 900 units of low income transitional housing for families by 2016 in East King County. KITH needs your help to create a different, more hopeful reality. With the help of good neighbors like you, KITH is working to pay off the mortgage at the 4-plex known as "Petter Court" and purchase additional permanent housing sites.

Times are hard. “The safety net will be stretched thin in some places and eliminated entirely in others,” Governor Gregoire commented on recent state budget cuts. “For the functions that government no longer will be able to provide, we must turn to neighbors, private charities, faith-based organizations and other local programs. Our communities, more than ever, will be asked to step up.”

With your help KITH can assist those seeking temporary and permanent housing. Each of us can help, whether it be personal services, charitable giving or simply prayers. KITH appreciates and looks forward to your assistance.

"KITH exemplifies the best of how our community joins together to address the problem of homelessness. Their focus is not on enabling or facilitating homelessness as a lifestyle choice, but on helping people to marshal their resources to escape homelessness. KITH makes a real difference in our neighbors' lives every day, and deserves our full and generous support."
